Sunday September 25th
We made our annual trip to the Slieve Russell for our penultimate outing of 2016. Despite all the recent rain the course was in great condition, as always. The players at the top of the leader board found it tough going but that wasn’t the case for the winner on the day Mick Joyce who shot an excellent 35 points. I’m sure the fact he wasn’t been chased round the course by the Course Ranger helped unlike the rest of us! In 2nd place with 32 points was Neil Brady and 3rd went to Eddie Crowe who had a very impressive 30 points. Today we also competed for the Danny Toole Memorial trophy and well done to Mick Joyce who also won this. Thank you very much to Danny Toole who presented this perpetual trophy to the society and also to Peter & Margaret Dillon (Dillons Bar Ballinamuck) who provided the much needed post round food and sponsored the prizes on the day.
The Player of the Year table continues to tighten up and now up to 7 players have a real chance of taking the Player of the Year 2016 title at our last outing in Longford on October 29th.
Results on the day as follows:
1st Place: Mick Joyce 35 Pts
2nd Place: Neil Brady 32 Pts
3rd Place: Eddie Crowe 30 Pts
Nearest the Pin: Sean Crowe
** Reminder that anyone interested in travelling to Portugal next year needs to have a €250 paid to Neil Brady before the end of October.
